#38 | The Choice to Thrive

Success in life rarely comes without a price. Contrary to what some might believe, overcoming challenges actually brings the greatest joy because that is how human beings are wired. If you ask any successful person how they started, their stories are remarkably similar. They faced obstacles, but they kept pushing forward.

Imagine entering a wild jungle completely on your own without any knowledge. Your chances of being attacked are incredibly high. However, if you go with a guide, you learn vital survival skills. Eventually, with enough practice, you can navigate the jungle on your own, even if you experience a few near-misses along the way.

When we compare our modern era to the past, it becomes clear how much the world has changed. Today, we see many centenarians reaching 100 years of age. A few hundred years ago, a person was lucky to make it to 50 due to disease and harsh conditions. Relatively speaking, we have it very easy today, despite popular belief.

How do we shift our mindset in this environment from seeing life as "hard" to seeing it as an "opportunity"? The answer is simple: education, education, education. Once you educate yourself, the lens through which you view the world changes. You begin to see how fortunate you are and recognize the vast opportunities right in front of you.

Life is full of challenges, but most of them are just speculation until they actually happen. We never truly know what the next chapter holds—it could be worse than we think, or it could be much better. The only card we have to play is the one currently in our hand. To achieve the highest rate of success, you must play that hand to the absolute best of your ability. There is no other alternative.

Without education and effort, you will feel like a victim. With them, you will rise, understand how the world works, and navigate difficult situations. Remember, whatever challenges you face, others face them too. The same goes for opportunities.

Ultimately, it is a choice. We are the sum total of the decisions we have made up to this point, and that can be changed at any moment. Life has no reverse gear; it only moves forward. Commit to training your mind, learn to navigate life, and you will quickly realize that the world you once thought was unfair is actually much better than you ever imagined.
